DMC = Digital Mixing Club?

So the DMC's, as many of you know, is a worldwide Technics created competition of Dj's showing there turntablism skills to scratch there way to the top. In the past it has been known for its Two Vinyl Turntables and one analog mixer. Times will change when they are allowing:

"Technics Turntables, Ortofon needles, Digital software (Serato, Traktor, Mix Vibes.....), Loop Stations (ie type Roland RC-20 or 50) and analogue or digital Mixers (internal or external)."

Championship
DMC have decided to allow DJs to move with the times whilst
protecting the integrity of the art and allowing them to embrace modern playback
technology.
These decisions are being made at the behest of DJs and our
international branches who want to move their events into the 21st century
whilst remaining loyal to pure turntablism.
Under any circumstances we don’t see
the DMC World Championships ever dropping turntable/vinyl as the main
focus.
Once we see how it develops at the World Finals and we have met with our
international branches, our decisions for expanding use of equipment in the
future will be made. So we’ll let the Teams take on the challenge and judge once
we have seen the results and, most importantly, the fan’s reactions.The
equipment allowed in the DMC Team event are : Technics Turntables, Ortofon
needles, Digital software (Serato, Traktor, Mix Vibes.....), Loop Stations (ie
type Roland RC-20 or 50) and analogue or digital Mixers (internal or
external).

So There you have it. We will see MANY new styles to the championships and hopefully for the better. Personally I cant wait for this to happen. I love the whole digital mixing game and it should be pretty sick.

Fujitsu Turn Table PC

The latest concept from Fujitsu combines a laptop and some DJing related material, it is called the Turn Table PC (read laptop) and what marks the difference from the rest of the laptops is having a touch-sensitive LCD panel on the front part of the cover.
The outside screen gives you MP3 playback capability - I'm guessing it has rewind/forward settings, and volume too - while the laptop is closed - this means that you can control the music by using the LCD Screen. It is also compatible with an external MP3 player, so just connect your iPod/Zen/Zune to the laptop and you are good to go. Since the Turn Table Laptop is very much related with sound, the Fujitsu folks decided to include a 5.1 channel surround sound to make it better.

PS - It is only a concept so far, but Fujitsu wants to produce this laptop in the near future

Graffiti Artist "Buket" of the TKO crew has been officially caught!

Yes you read it right. The notorious graff artist based in Cali has been nabbed my the cops. Buket was no small toy artist tagging in one town. He bombed the shit out of walls, trains busses etc.. ALL over California. Specifically the most in LA. How was he caught? Youtube. Like many graff artists, he was one of those that posted plenty of his own vids up there on youtube trying to get more street rep and soon after, the feds caught on.

"Cyrus Yazdani, also known by his graffiti tag “Buket,” was arrested Tuesday when he showed up for an appointment with his probation officer", the Sheriff’s Department said.

Yazdani was booked on multiple felony counts of vandalism for allegedly causing thousands of dollars in property damage

Authorities estimate that Buket’s handiwork has caused $150,000 worth of damage in Los Angeles alone.
